ABOUT AMIR

Amir Barnett is a 27-year-old self-taught visual artist and PE-eligible water resources engineer based in Washington, D.C. He operates his creative practice under the studio name 3IRDEYE — a platform for public art, fine art and design work that sits at the intersection of engineering and culture. Growing up in the city, he was shaped by DC's art and streetwear culture and frequent visits to its museums — drawing early inspiration from Basquiat, Murakami, Keith Haring, and Picasso. That foundation shows in work that is technically rigorous and culturally alive.

His engineering background gives him a rare ability to communicate with every stakeholder in an urban development project — from the developer to the designer to the end user. Where most artists see a wall, he sees a system. That perspective allows him to integrate art into the fabric of a development rather than apply it on top, creating work that compounds in value with the built environment around it.

His artwork and designs have reached every continent except Antarctica. His Wynwood mural has been seen by Tom Brady, David Ortiz, and Iggy Azalea. He was named one of DC's 25 Under 25 for art and design in 2021, and has exhibited at HOMME Gallery and during Art Basel.
